Irish Guide Dog Visit to Third Year C.S.P.E. class

Mrs. Alison Flack visited Ashton recently to speak to students in Ms. Power’s C.S.P.E. class about the role of Guide Dogs in the family, and wider community.  Students were spell-bound when they saw the dog completing various commands from Mrs. Flack. Visually impaired students and others were impressed with the impact a Guide Dog can have for an individual in relation to their independence levels. This visit was eagerly anticipated by students, and thankfully the ever-patient Guide Dog took it all in his stride!. A cheque from the proceeds of a cake sale at Ashton was presented to Mrs. Flack by the students, which Mrs. Flack accepted on behalf of the Irish Guide Dogs.
