Justice Group raise funds for Medecins sans Frontieres

IMG_9875Medecins Sans Frontieres work in places of greatest need in the world, and can be found caring and administering  medical care in over 60 countries across the globe.

Recently the Justice Group in Ashton, co-ordinated by Mr. Drew Ruttle, Chaplain, presented Clare Keaveney-Jiminez and Ciarán Hurley,  of University College Cork Friends of M.S.F.  with a cheque for 500 Euros,  the proceeds of fundraising  activities carried out earlier in the year.   Students in Ashton have been voluntarily attending meetings, carrying out fundraising and awareness activities at Ashton,  as part of their understanding of  justice, and its implications in a ‘real – world’ context.  They have had a very busy year, and are currently planning activities for the present school-year, continuing to develop  the theme of justice.   Clare Keaveney-Jiminez and Ciarán Hurley, expressed their gratitude at the generosity of Ashton students, emphasising that the money would  be well spent on most needy causes.  They also encouraged students to consider how they might become involved further in voluntary capacities,  as they progress in life.  A most worthy organisation.
