Gaeilge is winning again!

The Irish Department in Ashton were thrilled recently when they found out that they were once again winners in the Corn Bedell competition, where they have been winners on a number of occasions, 2016 being no exception.

Rev. Tony Murphy presented a cheque and a framed certificate to the Irish Department at Ashton School Assembly recently on behalf of Cumann Gaelach na hEaglaise for winning 2nd prize in the Corn Bedell Irish Language Competition.

The award was in recognition of whole school participation, and promotion of Irish during Seachtain na Gaeilge 2016.
