Uniform

Dear Parent/Guardian and Student,

The School Rules state that ‘The school uniform, worn neatly, is compulsory during the school day and on official school functions and outings.’

Your attention is drawn to the following:

• Girls’ skirts must be knee length.
• Girls’ shoes: heels of more than one inch, stilettos, kitten heels are not acceptable.
• Girls may wear trousers, but sweat pants are not acceptable.
• Brown or black leather shoes must be worn.
• Leather deck shoes with thin white trim (as shown below) are acceptable. Any other white trimmed shoe must not be worn.
• Canvas or suede shoes with or without white trim are not acceptable.
• Runners and boots are unacceptable.

• Boys’ trousers must be mid grey.
• Black, leisure trousers or sweat pants are not acceptable.

• Tee Shirts under shirts must not be visible.
• Sleeves of School Jumpers must not be frayed.
• Leg length of trousers must be so that they do not drag on ground.
• Make up must be appropriate for school.
• It is imperative that all items of uniform are named.
• School jacket is compulsory for all students. The wearing of any other school jacket in and around the school grounds is not allowed.  All students must get their initials put on their Ashton Jacket.  This will be done free of charge in Welchs.

Students who arrive in school out of uniform cannot be allowed attend classes.  In all cases of non-compliance with uniform, parents may be contacted and the student may be sent home.  Parents are asked not to supply a note excusing uniform. I ask for your support and co-operation in these matters.
