As a sixth year student in construction studies I feel it’s always a great class to be in during the week. There is something refreshing in doing a practical subject, working with your hands and using your brain in a very different way than for the more academic subjects.

Theory also plays a big role in construction, however it’s quite easy to grasp and has to do with things you’ve been surrounded by your whole life but never knew much about. Which makes it very interesting to learn about.

Not to mention, getting to design and make your own craft piece is a very rewarding experience, when you start to construct what had previously only been an idea in your head, it’s amazing to step back from the finished project and think, ‘I made that!’.
