Art student Jade Segrillo is a winner

Jade Segrillo, being congratulated by Art teacher Ms. O’Shea on her great achievement of winning the Jane Glanville trophy for her winning artwork.

Students of Art were invited to participate in the Jane Glanville Art Competition, open to TY, 5th year students from six Protestant schools (mostly comprehensive) in Ireland, based on themes of Reflection, Journey, Change or Contemplation, co-ordinated by Ms. O’Shea. Highly commended was Muireann O’Callaghan, 3rd Prize was awarded to Molly Neill, 2nd prize to Ellen Lahiff, and 1st prize was presented to Jade Segrillo. Jade and her parents travelled to East Glendalough School in Co. Wicklow, where her art submission was judged along with finalists from the other five schools, and Jade’s work was awarded the overall prize of a specially commissioned piece of sculpture.
