Ashton School is delighted to announce the commencement of its €6.5m building redevelopment

After waiting for over 10 years, the building redevelopment project started on 23rd April 2012. It was formally announced to the school community on 16th April. There was a palpable sense of excitment among members of the school community as they watched the demolition and piling get underway.

3dviewThe project which will cost in the region of €6.5m will provide new accommodation for all year groups. The existing Sports Hall and changing rooms will be completely refurbished. The Georgian house, previously Cork Grammar School, will also be retained and refurbished. Bella stefan . On completion all three buildings will be linked, new social areas will be created, the original Ashton School building will be demolished and the site will be re-landscaped to provide green areas, more trees, ball courts and parking facilities.

It is estimated that the project will be completed by September 2013.
