Athletics students have great success
The Athletics Association of Ireland ran cross-country challenge activities for students from across the country. The purpose was to encourage students uptake in distance running. It was open to all abilities. Ashton had 33 athletes representing the school in the challenge. Anna Torres 4th year came first in the 4th/5th/6th year girls section, with Sofia Mena coming third, just missing out on second by a whisker!
Ciara Burns 2nd year also finished in the top 10, and Ewan Lee and Alan Happi both finished in the top 10 with Alan in 5th and Ewan just ahead in 4th place in the 2nd/3rd/ year boys 2 lap race.
What amazing results. Congratulations to them all their coaches.
