A strong tradition of raising money for charity has developed in the school over many years. The effect of this is two-fold, the obvious being raising and presenting money to the many charities which benefit. Equally important is the educational process in identifying the charity, researching the work of the charity, inviting a speaker from the charity to the school to talk to the pupils and tell them of the needs and work of the charity. In recent years in excess of €6000 has been raised each year with events taking two forms: an “Action Week” and a Sponsored Walk.
