French Exchange 2020 – Cancelled

Dear Parents,

We have received communication this morning from our French partner school, Lycée Jeanne d’Arc in Pontivy, informing us that all school exchanges into and out of certain areas of France have been suspended by the French Department of Education.  The areas affected by the directive include the Morbihan area where our partner school is located.

Our partner school had advised us that as a consequence of the directive that they are unable to travel to Ireland or to host Irish students who have planned to travel to France.  In essence it means that we are no longer able to travel to France on Thursday, 5th March, as planned.

We have informed the School Tour Company of the directive. At this stage the School Tour Company has given no indication that the cost to individuals will be refunded by insurance in the circumstance.  Nevertheless the school will endeavour to follow up the matter diligently.

It is regrettable that the exchange has been cancelled in circumstances that are beyond our control. I wish to thank you for your understanding.

Yours sincerely,

Adrian Landen
Principal
