Prize Day 2015
Prize day was held on 13th November at Ashton. The success of students was acknowledged and highlighted. Guest of Honour on the day was Dr. Ruth Delaney, a past pupil of Ashton who has gone on to achieve tremendous success in the world of medicine. She is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon and shoulder specialist. During her time at Ashton she excelled in all areas both academic and sporting codes, representing the school in hockey and tennis.
Prizes were presented to many students, ranging across the academic, sporting and personal codes of achievement, reflecting the holistic approach to education espoused at Ashton. Principal Mr. Landen, assisted by Deputy Principal Ms. Hewison, members of the Board of Management and Hall of Fame Award winner Ruth Delaney presented students with awards to tumultuous applause and much pride from their peers, parents and family members. The Victor Bond Memorial Cup for Ashton School Junior Student of the Year was presented to Emma Wilkinson. The Ashton School Cup for Senior Student of the Year was awarded to James O’Leary. The Ashton School Hall of Fame Award was presented to Ruth Delaney, MB BCh BAO, MMedSc, MRCS Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, shoulder Specialist.
